Idaho is one of the best places for living off the grid, the climate is mild enough for growing crops, and the state doesn’t have any problems with freshwater. Texas is also home to several large cities, and in some areas, the population density is fairly high, although as this state is fairly large, you will have no problem finding a suitable area to live off the grid.

In addition to this most of these states tend to have a low cost of living, low cost of property, and plenty of options when it comes to growing crops.
